Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Elkins Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dewayne McDuff officiating. Burial will be in Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens. Born in Rush Springs, Okla., Nita attended the Oklahoma College for Women in Chickasha, Okla. She was an active member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Florence, helping with Meals on Wheels. She also enjoyed making baby quilts and giving them away to new parents. Nita is survived by her children, Teresa Gaston (Michael) and Carl Scott; grandchildren, Alana Kamm (Rob), Corey Scott, Rebecca Scott, Summer Scott, Meghan Scott, Jessica Blackmon (David), Amanda Fuller, Savannah Burns (Lee), Jenna Suggs (Ben), and Jasmine Fuller; great-grandchildren, Sebastian Kamm, Zoe Kamm, Carter Lynn Blackmon, Addison Suggs, and Emma Suggs; sister, Madeline Schooley; brother, Melvin Heath; stepbrother, Gene Coffee; and nieces and nephews, Brian Heath, Darrell Heath, Michael Heath, Bobby Woods, Donna Carter, Bill Thompson, Scott Thompson, Craig Thompson, Georgia Smith, Brad Scott, and Carol Machovec. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carter Scott; parents, Carl Heath and Stella Heath Coffee; stepfather, Irvin Coffee; and stepsister, Patsy Pelton. Pallbearers will be Bill Thompson, Steve Smith, Guy Smith, David McKinney, Mike Rikard, Chris Judd and Aaron Marquarted."

The Waco Tribune-Herald is an American daily newspaper serving Waco, Texas and vicinity.

The newspaper has its roots in five predecessors, beginning with the Waco Evening Telephone in 1892. The Tribune-Herald took its current identity when E.S. Fentress and Charles Marsh, who owned the Waco News-Tribune, bought the Waco Times-Herald. That purchase was the beginning of Newspapers, Inc., a chain which eventually owned 13 newspapers. Founded 1892 (as the Waco Evening Telephone).
"Harvey Spencer, 77, of Crawford, died Wednesday, April 10, 2013. Funeral services will be 3 p.m., Sunday, April 14, at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Crawford with Pastor Tom Beers officiating. Interment will follow in St. Paul Memorial Park under the direction of Cole Funeral Home, McGregor. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, at Cole Funeral Home. Harvey was born in Prairie Hill, Texas, to the late John Elmer and Mary Elizabeth (Nelson) Spencer. He attended school in Hubbard. In 1964, he moved from Dallas to Waco. then in 2010, to Crawford. On Nov. 25, 1981, he married Linda Carol Rueter in Crawford. For many years he was employed as a truck driver until his retirement in 1993. In 2010, he moved to Crawford. Harvey enjoyed staying active, so after he retired, he was employed by Connally ISD as a bus driver from 1993 until 2011, at which time Crawford ISD employed him as a bus driver until 2013. Harvey was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he served as an usher and greeted people as they were leaving worship services. He was raised a master mason in 2001 and was a member of Bellmead Masonic Lodge #1321 and later joined Crawford Masonic Lodge 585. Preceding him in death was his first wife, Janice Estelle Spencer; a grandson, Thomas Allen Judkins; a brother, James Spencer; and special nephew, Matthew Edison. Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Linda Spencer; sons, Dolan Spencer, of Bruceville, and Brian Brookshire, of Crawford; daughters, Vicki Spencer, of Waco, and Lynette Snyder, of Centennial, Colo.; and six grandchildren; other relatives and many friends."
