Born April 13, 1947, in Gilmer, Texas, he a resident of Parker County for many years. Howard was a retired draftsman and a member of Union Baptist Church where he served as deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Petty of Weatherford; daughter, Misti Petty and Jeff Aurrand of Fort Worth; son, Shannon Petty and DongMei of San Francisco, Calif.; brothers, Jerry Petty and wife, Dee, of Houston, Ronnie Petty and wife, Beverly, of Overton, Texas.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in the East Greenwood Cemetery, with Rev. Ray White officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.

"John William "Bill" Humbard, 76 of Midland, died on Saturday, April 12, 2003, Home Hospice House in Odessa. There will be a military graveside service at Resthaven Memorial Park at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2003 with a memorial service at 1:30 PM Wednesday, April 16 , 2003 at the First Baptist Church of Midland with Dr. Gary Dyer, pastor, officiating assisted by Rev. Bob Hopkins associate pastor. He was born on August 25, 1926, in Shamrock, Texas and married Bennylu Jones on September 24, 1949 in Ft. Worth. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1994. He was a member of First Baptist Church and was a member of the James Department Sunday School Class there. Mr Humbard was a independent geophysicist and geologist for fifty years. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1943 and served in the South Pacific Campaign and was awarded the Navy Cross. Bill was a graduate of Sul Ross University and had coached football at Trinity school in the 1960's. Survivors include one daughter & son-in-law; Claudia and Brent Wilbourn of Midland; one granddaughter; Kristin Wilbourn of College Station; and one sister, Dorothy Smith of Dallas and a neice and several nephews. Pallbearers will be the Honorable Judge Blair Cherry, Price Smith, Jr., Dr. Paul Setzler, Dr. Darrell Young, Rodney Robinson, Walter Wigzell, Jermain Griffin, and Dr. Andrew Kauffman. Honorary pallbearers are James Henry, Lloyd McDonald, Richard Saxes and Colin McMillian. Memorials are suggested to the Home Hospice, 901 W. Missouri, Midland, Texas 79761 or Meals on Wheels. "Born on May 14, 199 in Austin, Texas, Warren McMordie passed away on June 8, 1999 in Houston. Warren and his wife Judi have spent the last four and a half years in Corpus Christi, Texas. After obtaining undergraduate and graduate degrees from TCU and a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin, Warren worked for several years in the aerospace industry for Convair. In 1967, he joined the petroleum industry becoming the director of research for Oil Base, Inc., a drilling fluid service company. His contributions to drilling fluids technology were substantial, particularly in the development of oil-based mud technology, both from an R&D standpoint and in field applications. He was instrumental in shaping the direction of the American Petroleum Institute's Drilling Fluids Standardization Committee, setting standards and recommended practices for the industry. He was recognized for his practical stance on drilling fluid technology and would keep his committees from straying too far from useful field applications. Warren had the distinction of being the only chairman to shut down several API work groups because they were not needed. Warren moved from the service company side of the petroleum industry in 1985, joining SOHIO in Dallas, later moving to Houston after SOHIO was merged with BP. Warren retired from the BP affiliate Westport Technology Center in 1994. One of Dr. McMordie's favorite sayings was "My life will be a testament that mediocrity is okay." Although the Doctor was rarely wrong in drilling fluids or his assessment of people, in this case he missed the mark completely. Warren C. McMordies's life was anything but mediocre. The "Good Doctor" was a friend, mentor, companion, and a lover of life. He was a teacher nonpareil, very protective of his friends and associates, and an ardent foe of ignorance in the industry. Warren was preceded in death by his wife Betty Ann. He leaves behind his loving wife Judi of Corpus Christi; children, Bruce and Kathleen of Katy, Douglas and Cindy of Laporte, Mary Ann of Houston, Claud and Debbie of Austin, Gary and Lorie Baker of Rowlett; brothers, Frank of Dallas and Robert of Centennial, Wyoming; grandchildren: Lauren, Robert, Katherine, Allison, William, Natalie, Katrina, and Caroline. In addition, Warren leaves innumerable friends and colleagues who will miss his wry sense of humor, witty repartee, and awe inspiring presence. A celebration on his life will be held at the Presbyterian Church of Houston, 5300 Main on Friday, June 11, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of any flowers, a generous donation be made to the Warren C. "Beverlye June Jones of Corsicana TX passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, August 27, 2011 while tending to her beloved yard, trees and plants. She was born on the May 3, 1938 in Coolidge TX to Henry Alonzo and Gertie Mae Armstrong Jones. Her husband & Coolidge High School sweetheart, James (Jim) Doyle Jones, also born in Coolidge TX, preceded her in death and had promised to meet her at the gates of heaven when she got there. She and Jim were active for many years in the Texas Lions Club. She was active at First Baptist Church of Corsicana, where she was a member. She enjoyed and always spoke fondly of her friends from her Sunday School class. She was mother to Sheryl Guardiani (Alexandria VA) & Jayson Jones (Katy, TX), grandmother to Daniel Guardiani (Alexandria VA) and Joseph Jones (Huntsville, TX). There will be a short burial service on Thursday, September 1st at the Coolidge Cemetery Chapel at 10:00 AM. All who knew Beverlye are welcome to attend. He is survived by his wife Gwendolyn; daughters, Nancy McDaniel and her husband James of Smithfield, NC, and Sharon Rodgers and her husband Blaine of Mesquite; granddaughters, Tammy McDaniel of Smithfield, NC, April Smith of Smithfield, NC, Jennifer Parish of Durant, OK, Leann Remmers of Georgetown, Juli Sharek of Smithfield, NC, and Cassie Bartel of Ft. Worth; grandsons, John Parish of Emory, Cameron Hiser of Mesquite, and Kenneth Hiser of Mesquite; 14 great grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Chrissy Parish of Mt. Vernon.
