THE McCUTCHEON REUNION

WILLIAM AND ELIZABETH JANE HARRELL MCCUTCHEON and his mother, CATHERINE CYNTHIA OVERTON AVERY MCCUTCHEON JENNINGS, bring us back together once again, with pride in our ancestry and pride in their building of the REPUBLIC OF TEXAS , in Bastrop , Travis, Lampasas, and WILLIAMSON Counties . Their children continued to pioneer new Texas lands, with hardship and sacrifices. This is what has molded us, their descendants, into the people we are, and what future generations are to become.

***2004 in SAN ANGELO , TEXAS ***

The hotel provides courtesy airport limousine service, complimentary breakfast bar, full service restaurant, tropical atrium, with indoor pool, whirlpool, putt-putt golf, exercise room, game room, and happy hour @ 4.  All are very nice accommodations.  There is something for everyone.

A note about RV’s: The hotel is gladly permitting that you can park your RV in the parking lot, but there is NO hook-ups.  If you desire full service for your RV, contact me, and I can give you the information you need, to make a reservation.

A streetcar shuttle (wheel chair accessible) will be available for “to and from” the Fort, Saturday morning, so parking won’t be a problem for our large group.

It should be a good gathering time for us to visit and share great stories, and take in all the festivities that Fort Concho has to offer that Saturday, since it is FRONTIER DAYS.  (The children should have a good time, seeing the re-enactment.)  The old limestone building, the Fort Commissary, will belong to only us all day Saturday, for “taking in” the events and into the evening where we will have our catered meal and be entertained by The Pards, western music and cowboy poets.  The hotel is a block away from the Concho district of shops, eateries, and even the old bordello.  The Chamber of Commerce will have a packet for us and you can choose some fun things to see and do while you are in San Angelo.  Other fun things are in the works.

A golf game has been set up for Friday, June 4, in the a. m. at the Quick Sand Golf Club.  Check about tee times upon arrival at the hotel.  Also see separate notification on the web site, as to green fees + cart.

Another mail-out will occur in March, asking for your attendance count, and money for expenses, which will include all meals, etc.  Be thinking and encouraging all your family to attend.  It appears that this will be a well-attended reunion…………………Yeah!  Let me know if there is someone that needs to be added to the mailing list, or Email list.  If you have not been receiving emails from the reunion committee, you can let me know so that you can be on that address list, also.

As begun in the 2002 reunion, the silent auction was a great success in the effort to raise funds and establish a good account for the continued preservation of the McCutcheon/Shiloh Cemetery.  It is important, and our responsibility, as a family, to share in this expense.  Since William and Elizabeth Jane McCutcheon, and his mother, Catherine, are our common ancestors, it has been decided that our efforts in this project should be directed to this cemetery.  So………….be thinking of your item/s to bring.  It was a good thing in 2002, and should be better in 2004!

You can also go to the McCutcheon Reunion website that Faye Elder has set up to catch up on any additional information as it occurs.

Feel free to contact me, for any addition information or questions that you may have.
