Cockroaches vs Cane Toads: State Of Origin!!

State Of Origin footy is the highlight & show-piece of the rugby league calender. It is always the highest rating television program north of the Murray & is loved for it's intensity & especially for it's huge hits & fights!!

We here at Triple Treats make no apologies for the NSW slant of this page, considering our hatred for the bloody cane-toads after all the floggings they gave us growing up in the 80's, but during the 90's the mighty Cockroaches have managed to regain the ascendancy. Below are some facts from the greatest series in the greatest game of all:

* Former NSW coach Tommy Radonikis was the Blues' first skipper in 1980, when QLD won 20-10

* in 1987, Origin was taken to the USA to show them what REAL footy was. The Blues won 30-18

* St George's Wayne Bartrim kicked the goal when QLD beat NSW 2-0 in 1995, the only tryless Origin game

* Balmain fullback Garry Jack represented the Blues for 12 consecutive games from 1984 until 1987, a record for NSW

* Current Blues coach Wayne Pearce was the skipper in 1986 when the Blues won the series 3-0 - the first Origin white wash
