Center for Alternative Therapy

Tilottama
uses Bharathnatyam Movement Analysis to observe people and their physical
expressions from an objective and compassionate place and then designs programs
for the individual to increase her/his efficiency, functional range, and
expressivities. Because Tilottama believes that mind and body are intimately
entwined, she guides her clients in releasing the restrictions of their
self-images and thoughts while exploring conditioning, and injury prevention. In
addition to her expertise in Bharathnatyam Movement Analysis and Yoga
fundamentals Tilottama loves helping people of all ages and abilities discover
the adventure and joy of their bodies.
People
attracted to this work want an integrated body-mind approach to address a
variety of conditions such as injury rehabilitation, recovery from trauma (past
and present), psychological disorders, inefficient movement patterns, and
unhealthy body image. Tilottama has specially trained with populations dealing
with sexual abuse in children, mental retardation, domestic violence, and mental challenges including autism in children.
Her work includes movement
body reshaping, hands-on work, yoga and drama therapy. Tilottama conducts workshops and seminars on Movement therapy for parents, special educators and
children with special needs.
Tilottama lives by the serene backwaters of
Cochin, married to well known photographer Ashok Koshy and has an
eleven year old son Aastik.
