I am an adult child of a hoarder. I had not heard that term until today (Jan 2, 2012) but knew we existed. I love to watch the show hoarders and clean. I think the show reiterates for me that the disorder that exists in my family is real. I feel strange typing this and building this web site and not sure that I will link it up. But I am struggling to find resources and thought maybe I could compile information for me and others like me. I wish there was a counselor close by but I have not yet found a hoarding expert in the state of Texas. A lot of the sites I have seen focus on the problem and not the solution. I want to understand what my family's hoarding has done to me but only to move forward; I do not want to stay in the problem. My mother is a hoarder but in the phase of cleaning things up; she is not moving as fast as I want but is making progress. My bother and one of my sisters are hoarders but have not admitted it; me and my other sister are not hoarders.
