Tradition One: Our common welfare should come first; personal recovery depends upon A. A. unity.
Tradition Two:
For our group purpose there is but one ultimate authority - a loving God as he may express Himself in our group conscience. Our leaders are but trusted servants; they do not govern. |
~ UNITY ~
Separate needs
are weak and
easily broken;
but bound
together
they are strong
and hard
to tear apart.

For me when I think of tradition one I always think of tradition two. I have to remember that God is in charge and when I do I promote unity. In my home group it may be hard to let things go but one thing my sponser taught me was to ask myself 2 things before bringing anything to the group, "Does this promote unity or disunity and is this controversial?" It's amazing what seemed so important before those two questions, can dramatically change if I am honest with myself, my motives, and my intentions. Sometimes I just dont want to not be right! : - ) But being right is not always the right thing to do : - ).
