Miranda's New Movie
Miranda sure didn't let us down as her role as Lady Van Tassel on Tim Burton's newest movie "Sleepy Hollow". I hope to have a few reviews on this movie in the Reviews Section. But for now I'll post my own little version of a review, afterall I've seen this movie 6 times so far!! But if you haven't seen the movie DON'T read any further cause I'm going to spoil the end ;) sorry...

Miranda plays the wife of the richest man in town Baltus Van Tassel. (Christina Ricci's stepmother) She also plays the smaller part as the old crone (who is her sister in the movie). It turns out that Lady Van Tassel had married Baltus just 2 years before, after Katrina's (Christina Ricci) mother died of brain cancer. Lady Van Tassel was her nurse until she died then managed to get herself into the "marriage bed". Throughout the movie you see her a few short times thinking nothing really about her as the villian.
((The story goes on... but this isn't about the story of the movie so I'll just tell about the parts with Miranda.))
Later Ichabob Crane, a man who is investigating the creepy murders, (Johnny Depp) sees Lady Van Tassel sneaking out late one night, he follows her only to find her doing the dirty in the woods with the town Reverand. As he watched she takes out a knife and slices open her hand.
The next day she confronts Ichabob asking him why he didn't ask how she hurt her hand. He stampers something and she says "I know you saw me last night in the woods". She beggs him not to say anything to her husband. They are interupted by a man telling them that the town Notary had hanged himself. He asked how she hurt her hand. Lady Van Tassel replied "Oh I was careless with the kitchen knife". He said it looked angry and that she should tend to it, and she said she'd bind it with some herbs later.... she says "I know where some grows".
Later it shows her sitting and leaning over pulling up some of the herbs in the woods. Baltus rides up on horseback tells her to "come on" to the church, that everyone is going there and for her to hurry up. He gasps when a figure comes up behind him. It's the headless horseman with the sword raised to chop off head. Baltus fleeds just as the horseman gets ready to chop.
Later as Ichabob is leaving town he sees her body being taken into a home. He thinks a little while before telling the horse carriage driver to "turn around". He races into the home, pulls open the coffin, she's laying headless inside, he opens her hand and observes the deep cut in the palm of her hand. He mumbles something about no clotting then comes to the conclusion "this cut was made after the woman was already dead".
Then it flashes to Katrina crying in her home about Ichabob leaving. A figure approaches, Katrina looks up and gasps, her stepmother alive? "Suprised?" Lady Van Tassel asks, smiling wickedly. (Miranda is wearing this fabulous black and white dress, wow!)
Anyhoo... Katrina asks "who are you?" and Miranda replies "My family name is Archer." She said as a child she lived in a small cabin in the forrest. (the same one Katrina later lived in as a child) that Van Garrett was her landlord and that he'd recieved many years of loyal service. She said one day Van Garrett kicked her family out, and it was that day she vowed to get her revenge on the Van Garrets. It was then that Katrina and Van Tassel moved in. Lady Van Tassel's parents both also dies but "my mother had schooled me well." In the line of witchcraft that is.
One day young Lady Van Tassel was in the woods collecting firewood with her sister. She saw the headless horseman be killed, his head cut off. She said it was then that she sold her soul to the devil if he'd help her get her revenge.
As she's explaining Katrina breaks in "But there was a body". Miranda explained about Sarah the slave girl. "And to think I never thought she was good for anything, to find out she had a purpose afterall." Miranda also explains that she killed her sister, and that Baltus had run off before he saw that she was commanding the horseman.
Katrina asks why and Miranda explained the will, that after Baltus dies the will goes to her. So everyone must die. Then she cracked "The headless horseman comes, and tonight he comes for you!"
Anyway it goes something like that but of course Ichabob rescues Katrina (awwwwwww) and the evil Lady Van Tassel joins The Headless Horseman (who gets his head back) in hell. There are two creepy parts at the end, one is that the headless horse man kisses Miranda and it's a gross bloody kiss (yech) then as the ride into the tree together (Miranda is screaming like a banshee) her hand is sticking out of the tree. Really good effects. Really good acting... an excellent movie.
