I can't stand some of these
people!
Hello again, sorry I haven't added a rant
in a while. So lets get down to business.
I work at Winn-Dixie as a cashier and alot of people
who come through my line are just downright rude and/or
obnoxious!
Here are a few examples that I have come across so
far...
1) I had accidentally scanned a 6-pack of yahoo twice
without knowing it and 5 minutes after the man left
my line, he came back and told me, "You scanned
my yahoo twice!". I looked at the receipt and remembered
that he had only one 6-pack of yahoo. I agreed to my
mistake and this is where the all hell breaks loose!
The man looks at me and begins saying, "How could
you have remembered that I had one 6-pack of yahoo?!?
Did you scan it twice on purpose! I think you did! I
bet you did it to my entire order!", etc., etc.,
etc. Can you believe this? I had agreed that I had made
a mistake!
Now after a minute or so I was getting annoyed, he
was holding me up from doing my job and therefor holding
up my big line! I told the guy, go to the service desk
and they will help you with your problem, sir. In response
the guy tells me: "Well, why don't YOU go over
to the service desk for me?!?". Stupid question
should receive a stupid answer... I just pointed to
my line and told him, im busy... I have work to do."
and I went back to work.
2) Some old lady tore open 2 different 6-pack soda
packs and took 3 from each, she then set them up as
if they were one 6-pack. Now I began her order and I
go very fast... the computer thought she bought six
6-packs. When I totaled up the sale the woman started
whining and complaining about how she wasn't going to
pay that much money for six cans. "My entire order
should be $7 and nothing higher!". So I asked the
old woman if she took these cans from different 6-pack
containers (of course, she didn't answer that question),
and while I am trying to fix the problem some jerk in
the middle of the line starts messing with me calling
me a cheat and crap, asking if im stupid because the
cans rang up as a 6-pack each. Now, part of the problem
was me on this one... I had just gotten out of training
when it happened, I have since learned that when these
people do this you type in a little code that tells
the computer that it is a single can.
3) Yet another old lady... she comes up to my register
and I run all her stuff through... at which time she
presents to me a WIC Check (for those of you who don't
know what this is it is basically a food-stamp check,
that has to be entered into the computer system BEFORE
the order is started). I have to call the manager to
erase the entire order so I can start again, the woman
really doesn't want to wait around, but does. It goes
through correctly, all except a box of cereal that is
not an allowed WIC item. I call over the manager...
again.... and she explains to the woman that that particular
flavor of that cereal is not allowed with WIC. The woman
starts screaming & cussing saying how the WIC says
that she can have all flavors of that cereal, again
she is told there are exceptions to that. To make a
long long story short after a bit, the woman gets her
way and shestorms out of the place cussing...
I will never understand the stupidity and behavior
of these people!
