Command assigns and places over 3500 active duty submarine/nuclear trained officers and over 1000
nuclear trained surface/aviation officers to both shore and afloat commands. I am the assignment officer
for all officers in the Nuclear Training Pipeline, Naval Reactors Engineers and Nuclear Power
School Instructors. Significant collateral duties include:

Junior Officer - USS CONNECTICUT (SSN 22) - June 1996-June 1999
Reactor Controls Assistant - Conducted initial acceptance testing for the
advanced SEAWOLF class reactor plant. Led a division of 15 and an engineering watch section
of 11 through major milestone events including Reactor Safeguards Examination, initial
reactor plant control rod testing, initial criticality, and power range testing.
Displayed expert technical knowledge and leadership required to take the CONNECTICUT through its paces
and ensure timely and flawless completion of its testing program to certify the most advanced
submarine the world has ever seen. First person to qualify Engineer Officer onboard USS CONNECTICUT.
Electrical Officer - Led a division of 15 through inital electrical equipment inspection
and acceptance. Conducted initial electrical distribution system "light-off" flawlessly and ahead of
schedule.
Communicator - Handled ship communications ashore and afloat during initial at sea
testing, a period in which ship communications are increased by a factor of ten. Conducted ship
certifications testing for special communications.
Enlisted Commissioning Program - May 1991-August 1994
One of few selected from the enlisted ranks to attend college while receiving full pay and
benefits. Earned a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering in 3 years while fully participating
in Naval ROTC events.

Qualified in maintenance and operation of Reactor and Steam Plant Electrical Systems.
