If you have someone who will be joining the Air Force very soon, please pass on the following. The amount of free time they have is limited during BMT. But everyone is allowed to have at least one hour per week to exercise their religious beliefs. Almost all BMT's go to the Gateway Chapel. This chapel has two sanctuaries conducting Catholic and Protestant services at the same time. While most people attend the chapel service, we highly recommend that your loved one try to attend the Campus Crusade for Christ Sunday School class.
The Navigators team at Lackland AFB have very little contact with the BMT's, primarily because of the time constraints but also because CCC does such a great job with the Sunday School program. During BMT, it is very important that you stay in contact with your loved one. This is done primarily by postal mail. They may not be able to telephone very often and access to computers for e-mail is difficult.
Write often, keep them in prayer, send small items that will fit in a standard envelope. If they have attended a particular church, send them the Sunday service bulletin.
