Romancing Readers Into The New-Age!

The results are in on our 1st Annual Reader & Reviewer’s Choice Awards for 1998.
We received a lot of mail regarding the survey/poll we included in the previous issue. Many readers wanted to know “why” more nominations and awards. Romantic Times already awards authors, Affaire de Couer awards authors as does Romance Writers of America (RWA). Why the need for another round of awards? The answer to this is simple....Our newsletter/magazine may currently be small in comparison to those listed above, but our readership is strong and growing by leaps and bounds on a daily basis. This only proves that readers want, buy and read new-age titles. Because we love the sub-genres and want to see them continue to be published and flourish amongst the traditional contemporary and historical titles being released, it’s our responsibility to make sure that the authors dedicating their time and energy to this specialty market know we appreciate everything they do. It also doesn’t hurt that we will be sending certificates not only to the authors chosen, but the publishers/editors, too. This will aid in our fight to see new-age romances continue being published. Who knows, it may even open their eyes a bit and push the editors and publishers to start or perhaps ‘bring back’ some new or ‘wash-out’ lines of old. The winners for the Best New-Age Romances for 1999 as polled in the July/August, 1999 issue of the New-Age Bookshelf are as follows: Time Travel Romance (Tie in this category)
and it's tied with....
Fantasy Romance
New-Age Anthology
Futuristic Romance
Supernatural / Paranormal Romance
