Not much here yet, folks. Uh, check back in about two weeks from the beginning
of April, when I'll be out of town a lot and have the ability to procrastinate
in hotel rooms all by my lonesome and work on this site
For your entertainment and heart-warming, here are some pictures of my dog, Elsie.

I adopted (rescued) her from the Humane Society without permission and completely on
impulse. She's living happily
with lots of attention from my parents.
Here's a picture of Jen and me taken a couple
of years ago. We were our own mental institution, and laughed a whole lot.
I like this picture.
This is my sister's demon, Gizmo. He's a
one-woman cat. I know him as 'Hell-Spawn.' Don't be fooled, he isn't so
cute when attached to your body via claws and fangs.
Please visit Meryl's Rabid Feral Hamster Pictures
for either a small fright or a good laugh.
Current projects include:
- Research on homocysteine and its effects on folate metabolism in
yeast in the Appling Lab.
- Directing and coordinating construction of a DNA Microarrayer and the entire facility for the Institute of
Cellular and Molecular Biology of UT. In short, this machine will place up to
20,000 cDNA (genes) onto a microscope slide for analysis of gene expression. Very
powerful equipment. I picked up this technique at the Brown Lab at Stanfurd when I worked
there.
- Designed and currently maintain the Dean's Scholars research database
for undergraduates in the College of Natural Science.
Faculty may
fill out a
survey regarding undergraduate research.
- Working with Brad Losavio, Cindy Ly, and Kane Jen on the
Vomit Comet
proposal.
- ...and finally, classes, exams, and some great books.
this page will just take a week without tests, projects, or applications.
Right now I'm toying with the novelty of building a page again. :)
