EFFANBEE PATSY DOLLS PART II by wechill (with a little help from her friends: dolls50265, hoogland, jadoll, littledoll and veorika) Wee Patsy by veorika:

Here's a fine example of an orginal from wechill's collection. This little darling, measuring in at only 5 3/4", made her debut originally in 1935 but it wasn't until a few years back that I was to make acquaintance with her and some of the other family members who were brought back as reissues.

Though replicated well the original was made of composition. They both have the head molded to body, painted molded shoes and socks, jointed arms and hips, and are marked on the body:

EFFANBEE//WEE PATSY.

Interestingly enough, they were advertised as only "Fairy Princess" when they were first offered.

And I'm going to share a couple of my reissues with you.

The first is a special set distributed exclusively by Joan's Rainbow in Washington state.

Since I'm also an avid Snow White collector I naturally wanted to share this one with you as well.

Effanbee have made both a Wee Patsy doll and a very special Christmas ornament modeled after her -- both are featured below.

PATSY JOAN by littledoll:

Patsy Joan is my personal favorite of the Patsy family.

I think she has the sweetest face, and like the rest of the Patsy family, she has personallity plus!

Patsy Joan was first made in 1931.

She was 16" and all composition.

She had molded hair, but was sometimes wigged.

In 1946, when Effanbee was sold to Noma Electric, Patsy Joan was reissued.

Still all composition, but at 17".

She was marked on the back "Effanbee" with a "d" added.

Currently, Patsy Joan is being reissued in all vinyl.

This is a picture of my reissue "Christmas Patsy Joan," an Anniversary gift from my husband.

She came with her with her very own "Wee Patsy"!

This is a fun set to display during the Holidays.

PATSY ANN by jadoll:

As the Patsy doll grew in popularity, so did the variety of models that Effanbee produced. Each size of Patsy had her own name. In 1929 Effanbee produced a 19" version and she was called Patsy Ann. She can be found with or without a wig. My preference is the molded, painted hair. My Patsy Ann in the swimsuit that she was wearing when I first saw her. Here she is in her new silk party dress. And here's a picture of 3 of my Patsies to show the difference in size.

PATSY LOU by hoogland:

Patsy Ruth is a wonderful doll from the mid 1930's. They have real human hair and green or brown sleep eyes. They came in two sizes, the 27" which is all composition, and the head mark says:

EFFANBEE//PATSY RUTH

on both sizes.

The 25" size, with a cloth body and a shoulder plate which reads:

EFFANBEE//LOVUMS//.

Both arms are slightly curved and the lower parts of the legs are composition as well as the arms.

The rest of the Patsys that were not mentioned here are, Patsy Baby Tinyette toddler, from 1933, 6 1/2" with curved arms and straight legs, and the baby version that had curved legs and came with a trunk and extra clothing. Yellow, red, or brown painted hair, and blue or brown painted eyes. They also had quintuplet Tinyettes. On the head:
