But beautiful old people are works of art."

GRAMMY'S WORDS OF WISDOM (?)
(Been There - Done That - Don't Remember Most Of It)

Thank you my Hita, Lori, for sending the following "Strong Man" and "Resignation". As I have told you before, you are a great support to me and you make my mission easier.

STRONG MAN

The strength of a man isn't seen in the width of his shoulders. It's seen in the width of his arms that encircle and protect you.

The strength of a man isn't in the deep tone of his voice. It is in the gentle words he whispers.

The strength of a man isn't in the words he speaks. It's in how he keeps his word.

The strength of a man isn't how many buddies he has. It's how good a buddy he is with his or "your" children.

The strength of a man isn't in how respected he is at work. It's in how he is respected at home.

The strength of a man isn't in how hard he hits. It's in how tender he touches.

The strength of a man isn't in the hair on his chest. It's in his heart....that lies within his chest.

The strength of a man isn't in how many women he's loved. It's in whether he can be true to the one woman he's trying to love.

The strength of a man isn't in the weight he can lift. It's in the burdens he can carry.

The strength of a man isn't in how much food he eats from your table. It's in the effort he puts forth when you are unable.

The strength of a man isn't in how he makes love. It's in the understanding that there is more to making love....than making love.

A strong man puts God first; family second; and his work third.

Dearest Lori - At my age and having experienced many years of life's challenges, I can appreciate the next one. There have been times when it would have been wonderful to "resign" from adulthood and go back to the childhood days; however, angels like you in my life make traveling life's road easier - always remember, I love you!

RESIGNATION

"I am hereby officially tendering my resignation as an adult. I have decided I would like to accept the responsibilities of an 8-year-old again.

I want to go to McDonald's and think that it's a four-star restaurant.

I want to sail sticks across a fresh mud puddle and make a sidewalk with rocks.

I want to think M & M's are better than money because you can eat them.

I want to lie under a big oak tree and run a lemonade stand with my friends on a hot summer day.

I want to return to a time when life was simple; when all you knew were colors, multiplication tables, and nursery rhymes; but that didn't bother you, because you didn't know what you didn't know and you didn't care. All you knew was to be happy because you were blissfully unaware of all the things that should make you worried or upset.

I want to think the world is fair. That everyone is honest and good.

I want to believe that anything is possible again.

I want to be oblivious to the complexities of life and be overly excited by the little things again.

I want to live simple again.

I don't want my day to consist of computer crashes, mountains of paperwork, depressing news, how to survive more days in the month than there is money in the bank, doctor bills, gossip, illness ,and loss of loved ones.

I want to believe in the power of smiles, hugs, a kind word, truth, justice, peace, dreams, the imagination, mankind, and making angels in the snow.

So . . . .here's my check book and my carkeys, my credit card bills and my 401K statements. I am officially resigning from adulthood. And if you want to discuss this. further, you'll have to catch me first, cause...Tag! You're it."

GRAMMY'S WORDS OF WISDOM (?) (Continued)

Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional.

Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.

You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.

One of the life's mysteries is how a two pound box of candy can make a person gain five pounds.

My mind not only wanders, sometimes it leaves completely.

I was put on earth to accomplish a certain number of things. Right now, I am so far behind, I will live forever.

Time may be a great healer, but it's also a rotten beautician.

Brain cells come and brain cells go, but fat cells live forever.

You don't stop laughing because you grow old; you grow old because you stop laughing.

Women, remember, as we get older we no longer have hot flashes. We now have power surges.

Amazing! You just hang something in your closet for a while, and it shrinks two sizes.

You can't live long enough to make them all yourself."

"The tongue weighs practically nothing,
But so few people can hold it."

"He who loses money, loses much;
He who loses a friend, loses more;
He who loses faith, loses all."

"Great minds discuss ideas;
Average minds discuss events;
Small minds discuss people."

"To handle yourself, use your head;
To handle others, use your heart."

"Many people will walk in and out of your life,
But only true friends will leave footprints in your heart."

But He does not throw it into it's nest."

Remember, I have just started this web site so I do not have alot to share yet. If you have any "Words Of Wisdom" you would like to share with others, you can e-mail them to me. I would appreciate your input and will publish what you submit as long as it is "child-safe." Thank You!
