The Oneness Of God

Now to understand the Godhead lets first break each part down so we can understand it. First of all we know that there is only one God: The Creator of the heavens and the earth and of all mankind. For as we read in Deuteronomy 4:39 "Hear, O Israel: The lord our God is one Lord". Also Isaiah 45:5-6 " I am the Lord, and there is none else, There is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me: That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord, and there is none else".

Also all through time people have used various names of God so that people would understand him better. As in Johova..which means the "He That Is", "I Am", "I Am He", or simply God, and as we see in Jehova-Jireh..which is "God will Provide", also Jehova-Nissi "God my Banner" and also Jehova-shalom "God is Peace"

God is also Manifested to mankind as Father ..or "Creator", Son .. or "Saviour" and Holy Ghost or "Indwelling Spirit" ...Romans 8:11.

GOD as THE FATHER: God is a spirit..John 4:24, the Eternal one, the Creator of all things; and of course, of all men, thus making Him their Father "through creation". He is the First and the Last and beside him there is no God.. Isaiah 44:6 There was no God formed BEFORE Him neither shall there be AFTER Him.. Isaiah 43:10.

GOD as THE SON: Jesus is the Son of God according to the flesh.. Romans 1:3, and the very God himself according to the Spirit.. Matthew 1:23. Jesus is the Creator of all things.. Col. 1:15-17 also in John 1:10-12 ... ...."He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not."... Jesus was God made flesh John 1:1-14 ......"the Word was God.........And the Word was made Flesh"...

Now being the Son of God and God at the same time why did Jesus pray to Himself? This concept is simple if you can grasp it. Remember God is Omnipresent He can be in more than one place at a time, just as in heaven as in earth. And remember Jesus being flesh as also God, and just as we have to do, the Flesh must submit to the Spirit as even the created flesh that God dwelt in as Jesus. This flesh had to submit to an all powerful God.

Remember our ways are not his ways, God is far more complex than we will ever seem to think. Our natural minds can't seem to comprehend something like this because it doesn't fit in with what we think. Just as we cannot comprehend is that God's timing is not like our own. Before creation he always was and always will be. Before the beginning of earth there was no Beginning with God, as Eternity has no end.

And furthermore Jesus even testified to this when his Disciple Phillip wanted Jesus to show him the Father, Phillip didn't understand Jesus' parables when he spoke of the Father. (A lot of times Jesus spoke in parables and not in plain words, but through speaking the and referencing to the Father Jesus wanted us to understand that God as the Creator was more important than the manifestation of himself.)

Now we read in John 14:7-11 " If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Phillip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, me Phillip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake."

We also see in John 20:28-29 Thomas, comes to realize this when Jesus comes to him after the resurrection ..... "And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God. Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed."

In Acts 7:59 we read as Stephen is Being Stoned He calls upon The name of Jesus when he is calling to God .... "And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." Today we still use the Name of Jesus because it is the name that covers every detail of God. In study the literal translation of Jesus means 'Jehova has become Salvation.' Also shown in Isaiah 52 God says ..." Therefore my people shall know my name...."

We also see him use the phase "I Am" in John 8:58 .." Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. and the phrase "I am he" in John 18:6 also reading in John 10:30 we read Jesus saying ..." I and my Father are one"...

And this can be summed up by the Scriptures Isaiah 43:10-11 "Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servants whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour.

GOD as THE HOLY GHOST: The Holy Ghost is not a third person in the Godhead, but simply another manifestation of the spirit of God and as the resurrected Christ, coming to dwell in the hearts and lives of all men, who will be obedient to the gospel, as the Comforter, Sustainer, and Keeper..John 14:16-26; Romans 8:11

So understand that there are not Three Gods or even Three in One, But rather One God and Three manifestations. As in also demonstrated Water has three-forms.. liquid, vapor, and ice; but it is still the same substance. "These three are one".. ..1 John 5:7
