MY BELOVED AND MY FRIEND

It's my desire, my dear friend, to share with you the following words regarding my Beloved and Friend Jesus Christ, who is more precious to me than any other person, or thing. Although I have to confess that there's much weakness and lacking in my love to Him, yet I can still say that my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is my "first love" (Revelation 2:4). There's nothing, or nobody, who can take His place that belongs to Him in my heart, since Christ Jesus dwells by faith in it (Ephesians 3:17). Furthermore, He promised to never leave me or abandon me; therefore, "Christ lives in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave Himself for me" (Galatians 2:20). Oh, praise His glorious Name!

I can tell you, my dear friend, that the Lord Jesus Christ "is all" (Colossians 3:11) for me; that is to say, for now and for all eternity. In Him I have "all" that I need according to the promise of Philippians 4:19 - "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus". That's why I can say with the Psalmist: "The LORD is my Shepherd; I shall not want" (23:1). Yes, even in my wants according to the way that man sees, whether in my physical health, or my financial needs, or family problems, etc., He has always been there and given me the solution for the moment. He has never failed me! Can you see why I can sing with the sweet Psalmist: "Whom have I in heaven but You? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside You" (73:25)? All glory be to Him!

For sure, I could enumerate the multitudes of times how the Lord has blessed me during my life, (even when I didn't know Him,) and how since my "day of salvation" (2 Corinthians 6:2), "the God of (my) salvation" has "daily loaded (me) with benefits" (Psalm 68:19). Blessed be His Name! But my purpose with these few words is to tell you of His great love for the chiefest of sinners, who I am; and moreso, in knowing that "I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which (He) has shown to (me)" (Genesis 32:10). There's absolutely nothing in me to recommend me for Him to love me, and to die in my place for my sins. Yet He went to the Cross to shed His precious Blood in order to redeem me and to cleanse me "from all sin" (1 John 1:7). Oh, what great love for this stinking sinner!!!

At this moment, put your eyes on the Cross at Calvary, and hear the blessed Son of God crying out, "My God, my God, why have You forsaken Me?" (Matthew 27:46). Do you know why the innocent Son of God cried out with so much anguish? Because in that moment my Jesus was suffering the punishment that I deserved! Yes, the Father poured out His wrath upon His Son because of my sins___, Oh, beyond comprehension to know that God would punish His most precious Son for me, Lasaro Flores!!! Not only that, but He also left His soul in hell for three days and three nights so that I, believing in Him, would not have to go to that most terrible place, since in His great love for me, He took my place. Oh, how I love Him because He first loved me (1 John 4:19)! Yes, my hope is that this love of Christ is even now drawing your heart to Him so that you also can rejoice in His "so great salvation" (Hebrews 2:3).

But know another thing, my dear friend, that on the third day God raised His Son from the dead; and now He is ALIVE!!! Hallelujah!!! Now my life has been changed and it's NEW; not because of a "religion", or a "reformation", or of church membership, etc., but because of a "personal and intimate relationship" with the God of my salvation through His Son, who is sitting at His right hand, waiting for the Day when He returns for me, and all of His, to take us home; and also to judge those that are not His "when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; when He shall come to be glorified in His saints, and to be admired in all them that believe..." (2 Thessalonians 1:7-10). In the meantime, while I wait for Him to come, or I go to be with the Lord, I walk in His love, which is "eternal" (Jeremiah 31:3), knowing that nothing, or nobody, can "separate (me) from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus (my) Lord" (Romans 8:39).

This is my Beloved and this is my Friend, who throughout the years, has been faithful and good to me in every moment; even in dark moments, or in doubts and fears; or when times have been difficult and impossible, He was there all the time! The Lord Jesus Christ is the best Beloved and Friend that one can have, or ever have! Come to Him, in repentance of your sins and in faith, and you will see that I what I have said to you is the Truth and the Life because He is only Way to the great love of God! Amen.
