William R. Bolin

BOLIN, WILLIAM (WALTER?) R., (Buried: Plot 3; Evergreen Cemetery. Orange, Texas), Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America in June, 1861, and served "Honorably" as a "Private" in Company "A", 11th, "Spaight’s Battalion of Infantry", C.S.A. He transferred in 1863 to the "Marine Department", C.S.A. (cotton clad Confederate gunboats). He was at His time of enlistment a resident of Orange County, Texas. He was "Honorably" discharged from said service by disbanding of that Department in June, 1865, at which time He held the rank of "Private". (This information obtained from "Southern Cross of Honor" application…His writing). Received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 21281.
