F. H. Canter

CANTER, F. H., Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America on the 8th day of October, 1861, and served "Honorably" as a "Private" in Company "A", Liken’s Battalion, "Texas Cavalry", C.S.A. He was at that time a resident of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. He was "Honorably" discharged from said Confederate service in May, 1865, by Green’s Brigade. Also served with Company "G", 21st Texas "Cavalry", "First Texas Lancers". (Obtained from "Southern Cross of Honor" application…his writing). Also served in Company "A", 11th "Spaight’s Battalion", "Texas Volunteers", C.S.A.
