Frederick Abbey Burton

BURTON, FREDERICK ABBEY, "ORDERLY SERGEANT", Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America, January, 1862, and served "Honorably" as a "Private" in Company "G", "Burnett’s" Regiment, 21st Texas "Cavalry", "First Texas Lancers", C.S.A. He was at His time on enlistment a resident of Orange County, Texas. He was "Honorably" discharged from said service in 1865, by General Walker, at which time he held the rank of "Orderly Sergeant". (Obtained from "Southern Cross of Honor" application…His writing). Received a Confederate Pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 36185. (note: Company "G" was formed in Orange County, Texas.)
