BLAND, DAVID, (Buried: Plot 2; "Evergreen Cemetery", Orange, Texas), Born: 27th day of January, 1843. Deceased: 25th day of November, 1927. Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America on the 26th day of September, 1861 (17 years old) and served "Honorably" as a "Private" in Company "B", 4th Regiment, "Texas Cavalry", "Greenís Brigade", C.S.A. He was his time of enlistment a resident of Orange County, Texas. He was "Honorably" discharged from said service by disbanding in Burleson County, Texas, by General W. Hardeman in May, 1865, at which time He held the rank of "Private". (Information obtained from "Southern Cross of Honor" application; his writing). Received a Confederate Pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 34625.
