Charles G. Goodman

GOODMAN, CHARLES G., “ORDERLY SERGEANT”, (Plot 4; Evergreen Cemetery), Born: 1829. Deceased: 1902. Enlisted in the service of the Confederate States of America on the 12th day of March, 1862 and served “Honorably”, as a “Private” in Company “G”, 13th “Texas Dismounted Cavalry”, C.S.A. He was at his time of enlistment a resident of Jasper County, Texas. He was “Honorably” discharged from said Confederate service on the 20th day of May, 1865, by “Captain” W. F. Seale and “Colonel” A. F. Crawford. At which time he held the rank of “Orderly Sergeant”. (Obtained from “Southern Cross of Honor” application…his writing). Charles’s wife: Francis Hannah Goodman received a Confederate pension from the State of Texas. Pension # 27039.
