Dream of: 20 April 2012 "The Empty Chair"

Try to stand firm in the face of frightening signs of danger.

I was walking through the Gallia Street House (a two-story frame house which I bought out of probate court in November 2011 and resold in April 2012) where I hadn't been in a few days. I walked up to the second floor and down a hallway. When I turned right to enter a bedroom at the end of the hallway, I was shocked by what I saw. The last time I had been there, the room had been completely empty and the windows had been uncovered. Now beige curtains (which matched the beige carpet on the floor) adorned the windows. Most shocking, however, was a brown chair which was sitting empty in the corner of the room. I was absolutely positive that chair hadn't been there before.

I immediately knew what had happened: someone had broken into the House and was probably living there. Just opposite the chair was the door to a large walk-in closet. I figured that whoever had broken into the House might be in the closet. I felt utterly vulnerable. Overcome with fear, I stumbled back against the wall of the hallway, emitted a shrill gurgling sound, and slumped down to the floor on my butt, anticipating that someone might spring from the closet at any moment and attack me.

The preceding dream is an actual dream included in my dream journal, and does not describe actual facts
