Dream of: 15 September 2007 (2) "Lancelot"

I was the knight Lancelot. I was on my horse with a group of my fellow knights likewise on horseback. We had arrived at a clearing in the woods where a big battle was taking place. There were three factions: my fellow knights and myself, the king and his army, and the opposing force which the king was fighting. My role wasn't completely clear. I wasn't quite sure which side I was on, even though I fought and fought in the battle.

During a lull, I ended up in a small hut on the edge of the battlefield, and as the battle recommenced, I stayed in the hut. I had a premonition something was going to happen, but I was unsure exactly what. Suddenly, a large group of maroon-garbed riders on horseback stormed out of the forest and into the clearing. They clashed and fought with another group in the clearing.

I moved back and forth in the hut from one window to the other, watching the action. I knew something was about to happen, but I didn't know what.

When it looked as if the battle was finished, I walked outside, unsure who had won. Suddenly I saw a person dressed in a black robe coming toward me. I couldn't tell if the person was a man or woman. Sometimes he looked like a man, sometimes a woman. With a shudder, I suddenly remembered the ending of the story of Lancelot: Lancelot died.

I knew my time had come. The black-robed person was upon me. In her hand was a long silver dagger raised into the air. I fell down. I knew I was about to die. She now seemed like a woman and I heard the phrase "the virgin mother." The sight of the raised dagger over me was bittersweet. I didn't want to die, but I knew this was my destiny which had to be fulfilled.
