Dream of: 08December 2006 "Divorce Settlement"
I was on a bus in the Rocky Mountains, headed for a resort in the forest. I talked with some other fellows (probably in their early 20s) on the bus who had never been in the Rockies. I mentioned that the first time I had seen the Rockies, I had thought I was in heaven, I had been so high in the air. I said the mountains around us now were only the foothills of the Rockies, and not as high as the mountains I had first seen.
I started talking with a woman sitting behind me who resembled the character Candela (played by the actress Marķa Barranco in the movie Mujeres Al Borde De Un Ataque De Nervios). She looked about 40 years old. Somehow the conversation turned to money and she quickly let me know that she was rich. She mentioned that she had received the money from her husband, who had been a lawyer. She told me they had divorced and she had received four million dollars. Surprised, I told her that her husband must have been really upset. I told her I had been upset when I had had to split my money with my ex-wife Carolina. I had received $320,000, which I had thought was a substantial amount. But I saw the money I had received paled in comparison with the money she had received.
She mentioned that they had divorced in 1956. I stopped and told her to wait a minute. I asked, "1956?" She confirmed the date. I said, "That was 50 years ago." She again confirmed the date. I said she had to have been at least 20 years old at the time, which would mean that she was now at least 70 years old. She confirmed that.
She handed me a little device which I could connect to my ear and also put in front of me so I could see her, something like a cell phone. I became intrigued when she began changing clothes and I could see her on the device. She seemed to think that I wouldn't want to have anything to do with her, but somewhere in our conversation I mentioned that I would like to marry her for her money. Now, however, I was becoming interested in her for herself, not for her money. However, I intended to continue acting as if I were only interested in her for her money, just to be cute.
I couldn't get over the fact that she looked so young, and yet was apparently so old. As I looked more closely at her face, I thought she must have had a lot of work done on it. The more I looked at her, the older she looked, but it was still difficult to imagine that she was 70 years old.
She gave me her phone number and said I could call her sometime and talk about some trivial subject which she mentioned. She acted as if she were simply brushing me off, but I was interested in her and I wanted to talk more with her.
