January 2006 "Woody Allen Show"I was standing in a long line with my ticket for a live performance of a show by Woody Allen, scheduled to begin at 2:00 a.m. I was a bit dubious because I knew this sort of show was often cancelled at the last minute. The producers made money that way, because although a refund would be issued, not everyone would go to the trouble of claiming the refund.
As part of the show, the audience was also supposed to be served breakfast. I was very hungry and I anxiously watched as the breakfast buffet was set up. I picked up a piece of bread and butter to nibble on; but I soon regretted my munching because I didn't want to spoil my appetite. I especially had my eye on some enticing bread pudding on the breakfast bar.
An announcement was finally made that the show was about to start. I had thought I was near the front of the line and was thus chagrined to learn that everyone had to turn around and walk back the other way, leaving the cafeteria area where we had been standing. I walked back outside and other people -- unsure what to do -- followed me. It now looked as if the people at the rear of the line would be first, but they courteously allowed me and the little group following me to pass them, so we would still be near the front.
I felt strong as I marched up a hallway, leading the others, to reach the entrance of the show.
