Dream of: 31 December 2005 (2) "Pinto Beans"
As I was walking down a street, I passed a building on the corner which I had seen before, but had never entered. I was unsure what was inside, but for some reason, I decided to go in. I walked in and found myself in a large room filled with maybe 100 people sitting at tables - like a cafeteria.
My old high school friend, Walls (about 30 years old), was sitting at a table. I walked over, sat down next to him, and soon learned that Walls had invited all these people here. I also saw that all of them had small bowls of pinto beans which they were eating. Walls had prepared the beans for them. I thought it was nice, albeit strange, that Walls would have prepared the beans for the people. I commented to Walls that he must have done a lot of cooking to have prepared so many beans. I still wasn't sure what was going on here, but I was also served a bowl of pinto beans.
A man and woman (both 60-70 years old) walked into the room. They were both thin and both seemed lost. The woman walked up to me and asked me if I could speak Spanish or French. I answered her in Spanish that I spoke both Spanish and French. She sat down and I continued speaking with her in Spanish. I wondered if other people could hear me and were impressed by my speaking Spanish. I also spoke a few words to her in French. I tried to help her, but she didn't tell me why she was here or what she wanted.
Finally everyone stood up in place. The woman stood up next to me and I put my arm around her shoulder and held her close to me. I wasn't sure, but it seemed as if some kind of activity was going to take place and I was going to help the old man and the old woman if I could.
