Dream of: 19 February 2005 "Doctor's Appointment"

My mother and I were walking along the corridor of a hospital. She had come there for a checkup. Since there was no waiting room, we finally sat down on the floor of the corridor to wait. Other people were also sitting on the floor and waiting. Finally my mother was called into the doctor's office and I continued waiting in the corridor.

After my mother had gone into the doctor's office, a man walked up to me and acted as if he knew me, but I didn't recognize him. He was about 25 years old and had almost shoulder-length blondish hair. He looked exactly like the actor Owen Wilson. Several times he mentioned that he had been signed up to play for the Red Sox. Finally I blurted out that I didn't know who he was and I asked him who he was. He said he used to know me and Roger Anderson. Finally I recognized him. I hadn't remembered him because he used to have a mustache and short hair. We talked a bit more.

I was becoming increasingly impatient with waiting for my mother. She and I had arrived at the hospital at 9 a.m. and the time was now 5 p.m. When I couldn't take waiting any longer, I stormed into the doctor's office and demanded to know what was going on and why it was taking so long. I said we had been there for over wight hours.

Standing in front of me, the doctor began calmly speaking to me, discussing my mother. I suspected that she had Alzheimer's, but I was not yet certain. As the doctor continued talking, I wondered what I would do if my mother did indeed have Alzheimer's.
