While Carolina and I were in the House in Patriot, I noticed Clint Fowler standing outside. He looked older than I remembered him. I didn't go outside, and finally he left.

My grandmother Leacy and my mother were also in the House. My grandmother (about 50 years old) looked strong and had black hair. I was busily working on two cardboard boxes. I asked my grandmother if I could store the boxes in the garage. When she said I could, she, my mother, and I walked out to the garage. Lying on the ground in front of the garage were a large stained glass window and some doors which my grandmother had been cleaning. Smudges were all over the glass and the doors; my grandmother said crawling slugs had made the smudges

I walked inside the garage, into the storage section on the side. I thought many things which I would like to see would be in here. I first noticed some wooden clocks sitting high up on a shelf. Then I found a postcard in a frame. I took out the postcard to look at the writing; but I was disappointed to see that the writing was just something printed which came with the card, not original writing. But also in the frame I found some black and white pictures of my father. Young, with slicked-back black hair, he was wearing a suit. Another picture showed my father and me on a water slide. I was probably 7-8 years old in the picture. My brother Adolph and my mother were standing at the bottom of the slide. Adolph was probably 6-7 years old. I showed the picture to my mother.
