Dream of: 18 January 1997 "Honda Dream"

I was in a restaurant in the Stockyards area of Fort Worth, Texas. I was aware that I rarely came to this area of town, with all its country and western night clubs and cowboy restaurants. But I had needed to talk with someone at the restaurant, and take care of some business. Now that my business was over, I was walking across the hard-wood floor of the large room, headed toward the door. On the way, I picked up some Pringles potato chips sitting in a large bowl on an empty table, and munching the chips, I exited the restaurant.

It was daylight outside, and I stood on the sidewalk a moment, considering my attire. I was wearing cowboy boots, blue jeans, a western shirt, and a cowboy hat. I realized this clothing was uncharacteristic for me, but it didn't look bad. Besides I felt young, and seemed to have the slim fit body I had when I had been 20 years old. I walked over to my motorcycle, got on, and headed down the street.

Only when I was moving along on my motorcycle did I stop to think about what I was doing: I hadn't ridden a motorcycle in years. In fact, I didn't even know if my drivers license allowed me to ride a motorcycle. I knew I had recently had my driver's license renewed, and I didn't recall seeing anything on it about motorcycles.

But I did know one thing: it felt great to be on a motorcycle again. It made me think back on the first motorcycle I had ever owned. I wondered what had happened to that motorcycle. It had been a red and white Honda. I wished I still had it. I recalled that that particular type of motorcycle had been known as a "Honda Dream."
