Dream of: 12 August 1994 (2) "Knock On The Door"
I was lying in bed in the bedroom of the Summerdale Drive House. Three or four other men were staying with me. Suddenly I heard a pounding noise which woke me up. I thought someone was at the door, and I asked the others if they had heard anything. They indicated they had also heard the noise. I grabbed my .38 caliber gun and walked in to the front door. Sure enough, someone was out there pounding on the door. It was just about dawn, early in the morning, but it was still dark outside. I said, "Who's there."
I heard someone say, "Open up."
I tried to look through the peep hole, but I couldn't see anything. So I opened the door and pointed the gun outside. But I had forgotten to turn on the light and I couldn't see who was out there. I heard a woman's voice and finally saw a frail-looking woman (about 25 years old) outside. She had a small child with her. It also looked as if it was raining outside. She asked me if I had any food. She said she and her family lived not far away, and she wanted to know if I could give them any food. I said, "No, not at this hour of the morning."
She wanted to come into the House, but I pointed the gun at her and told her to go away. Finally I slammed the door shut. I heard her call out, "Don't you want to have any friends?"
I was upset that anyone would come at this time of the day and wake me up out of my sleep to try to get some food. I walked over to the window and looked out. She was heading across the street, to my neighbor Roy McClure's house. I could see her knock on the door, and I saw Roy immediately walk to the door. I also saw that Roy had two sons (probably in their late teens) who also walked to the door. Roy was wearing a bathrobe. He and his two sons all walked outside and stood there with the woman. He looked like his normal self (about 50 years old). I stood watching, wondering if he was going to give her any food. He was definitely talking with her, but I couldn't tell if he was going to give her any food.
