I was in the back seat of a car being driven by Buckner. Sometimes I leaned over the seat to talk with Buckner. I only had one thing on my mind: I would like to have some LSD or marijuana – I thought perhaps Ramey had some drugs he would sell me. I felt comfortable talking with Buckner about it and I said, "I want some drugs."

We were on Gay Street and passed in front of the Gay Street House. Another car got in our way, then turned off the street. When Buckner turned right on Eighth Street, I saw the other car coming toward us. Clearly the people in the other car were trying to cause problems; I said to Buckner, "Hit it."

Instead of moving, Buckner stopped the car. Two men were getting out of the other car, apparently wanting to fight us. I could see other men also in the car. I would like to fight and it looked as if Buckner was going to get out of the car to fight. I told him we should leave. As I was pulling away, I could see altogether five people in the car. I thought one man in the back seat was named "Steven Nagel," although he looked just like Wiss (a Dallas attorney).

Buckner backed onto Gay Street and drove down the street. After two blocks, just before we reached Eleventh Street, I noticed on the right side of the street several old houses had been torn down, allowing a much better view of the area. Now a small factory stood where the houses used to be. I looked attentively at the factory; it manufactured statues of small men or elves. Two statues were standing in front of the factory. It gave me a good feeling to know the statues were manufactured here; it made Portsmouth a better place to live. The statues were about a meter tall and appeared to be made of cement. They were quite detailed; although I didn't realize it at the time, they were similar to the dwarfs in the story "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
