My wife Carolina and I were sitting in a room in which the television was on. I was absent-mindedly watching the screen, which showed five young black and brown crows swooping in to perch. The five landed on a limb, immediately pulled themselves up close to each other and fell asleep.
The synchronization of their movements had been beautiful. I turned to Carolina and asked, "Did you see that?"
But she hadn't been watching. I proceeded to explain to her what I had seen. I told her it was as if the five birds had turned into one bird when they had landed. It seemed marvelous to me.
