I was in Columbus, Ohio, where I was supposed to go to my last class for this school period, which was scheduled for 8 o'clock this morning. But I decided not to go to class, and instead began walking around. I soon ran into Randy Ramey and Mike Walls and got into the front seat of a car which Mike was driving. Randy was sitting in the middle.
I felt a bit awkward with them since I had been living in Columbus for about 4 months and hadn't looked Randy up, although I knew he was living in Columbus. However I had been thinking about looking for his house this very day. I put my arm behind Randy, patted Mike on the shoulder, and told him I was glad to see my old buddies.
When the car finally stopped, Randy and I stepped and walked into a slum house. We went into an upstairs room where a number of people were sitting around. Randy went back downstairs and left me alone. When I saw some glass pipes for cocaine and some people smoking crack, I realized we were in a drug house. I thought I could probably smoke some if I wanted to, but I didn't think that would be a good idea. I just wanted Randy to hurry up so we could get out of here.
I noticed what appeared to be a mural on one of the walls. But the figures were moving like a movie. I began watching it and realized it was the story of Aeneas. I remembered it was a story of a hero written by the Roman poet, Virgil. The story had never inspired me much. I thought it would be a good idea to reread the poem and try to understand it more.
Randy came back upstairs. He wasn't wearing a shirt and had blood smeared on his chest. I realized he had been using needles to shoot up some kind of drug. He looked terrible. I wanted to get Randy and leave immediately. It appeared that Randy's life had been ruined by the use of drugs. I was glad I had stopped using them a long time ago.
