I was living with Laura (whom I first met in 1964 when we were classmates in the sixth grade). We were lying in bed together. We were both in our mid 30s. Although I was living with Laura, I was actually married to another woman whom I had not seen in a long time. I thought I should probably go ahead and get a divorce from my wife, and I asked Laura what she thought. She seemed to also think I should get a divorce. I was thinking about simply sending my wife the divorce papers to see if she would sign them, but I was concerned that my wife would want half of all my property. I asked Laura what she thought, and she said she did not think my wife would want half the property. Laura knew my wife fairly well, and Laura did not seem to think there would be any problem. Laura seemed to think my wife would simply sign the papers and I would be able to keep my property. I thought I would go ahead and prepare the papers and send them to my wife.
