I was driving a motorcycle with
Carolina sitting on the back behind me. When we stopped at a red light, I handed Carolina a cardboard sign with a picture for her to hold. At the same time I was humming the song "How Do You Mend A Broken Heart." Still holding the sign, Carolina got off the bike and stood there until I said, "Get on mi amor."She climbed back on. As I pulled out, I was in an uncomfortable position because Carolina had climbed up on top of my back. She was almost causing me to wreck and I screamed at her, "Get off my back."
Instead of climbing off, she fell off into the street into the oncoming lane on the left side of the street. Before I could act, an approaching car ran over top of her legs. She was wearing bluejeans, and after the car passed, it looked as if her legs were bent back. Thinking perhaps her legs had been torn off, I jumped off the motorcycle and ran to her. When I knelt down next to her I saw that her legs were still connected, but appeared to be badly injured.
Other cars were coming right toward us and I put up my hand to try to stop them.
