I was talking with a beautiful woman (about 20 years old) with long black hair. She was my first cousin. I knew I could fall in love with her in an instant if I thought there was a chance she could love me. I spoke to a young girl standing behind me and asked her if she thought it would be OK for me to marry my own first cousin. She said it would be permissible. Concluding it would be OK, I approached the woman and began talking with her.

At first I thought she would reject me outright, but she indicated she could possibly marry me. I told her I would do anything in the world for her, but then I realized that wasn't entirely correct. It appeared I was going to have to have a knife fight with another man who also loved her, and I knew I wouldn't kill the man for her, although I thought I would wound him.
