I had awakened in the night. Carolina had also awakened. She was scared, saying she thought she had heard someone in the house. When I picked up a gun, she said she thought someone was right outside the door of our room. I aimed the gun at the door. Suddenly it occurred to me that I might be dreaming. Maybe during my dream I had actually heard a noise. That would mean I should wake up and really get my .38 caliber gun.
