Dream of: 26 May 1990 "Fish Hook"

I was in a convenience store which seemed to be on Highway 52, at the bottom of the hill where Walls lived in Portsmouth. I stood at the counter for quite a while and finished eating what appeared to be a chicken leg about a meter long. The man behind the counter was handling the customers very slowly, and quite a long line had developed. But I was in no hurry, and after finishing the chicken, I looked around for something sweet.

I saw a small pastry filled with white cream which was 79 cents. But then I saw one perhaps 10 times larger for only 89 cents and I decided to buy it, even though I knew it wouldn't be healthy for me.

When I walked back to the counter, I saw what looked like a fish hook with some kind of colorful insect on it. I thought it was a fish lure, but suddenly the insect flew away and I saw that it had only been sitting on the hook. Actually there were three hooks connected together. I picked it up and showed it to the fellow behind the counter. I told him he could have been facing a lawsuit if someone had got their hand in the hook. But he said it wasn't his responsibility because he hadn't put the hook there. I informed him that he could still be sued, and that alone would have been a great inconvenience for him.

The man who apparently owned the store was in a back room and I could hear him talking about some bankruptcy papers which had been left for him there. As I listened to him talk, I realized Cathy had mistakenly brought some of my bankruptcy papers here and left them instead of taking them and filing them at the bankruptcy court. I was going to have to talk with her about that. Meanwhile apparently the man had been charged for the filing of the papers. I wondered what I would have to do to get them back and whether I would have to pay him for what he had been charged.
