I had gone to visit Mullin (a Weatherford, Texas district court judge), whom I found sitting at a desk outside in a field. The place felt good; Mullin seemed happy and smiled profusely. We talked for a while until I finally told him I had something which I would like for him to read. But it was almost one o'clock, and he told me he had to leave at once. I then asked him if Carolina had called him (I was expecting her to meet me there). He said she hadn't, and I thought I would probably have to wait there for her. He then mentioned something about Carolina's knowing ancient French. I told him that she didn't know ancient French, but that she did know ancient Latin.
