19 May 1989 (2) "Hard Times"I was talking with
Walls on the phone, and he began telling me a sordid story about how he had been with some man the day before and the man had performed fellatio on him. I was uncertain why Walls would have let him do that, but Walls seemed not to be embarrassed by it.I was sitting in the back seat of a car with Walls and I had a coat pulled over our heads so no one could see either of us. Walls was still talking about what happened. Apparently some other fellows ha also been at the scene when the fellatio took place and they had watched. I found the whole thing disgusting. Gradually I concluded that Walls was completely broke, and that the man had paid him for the fellatio. Walls seemed to have truly fallen on hard times, but he didn't look bad. His hair was still black and he looked as if he were only about 20 years old, but obviously his life was a shambles.
