Dream of: 06 November 1988 (2) "Insurance Claim"

I was in a courtroom, seated at a table. To my right, around the corner of the table, was seated another lawyer with whom I was speaking. We were discussing a case in which I had made a demand of an insurance company. I wanted to settle the case and the lawyer offered me $60,000. I was surprised to hear the offer and I wanted to settle it, but I didn't want to appear too anxious. I told him I would accept $75,000, then lowered it to $70,000, but I knew I would accept $60,000.

A judge was sitting in a high bench in front of the room. Suddenly he said, "Terry, call your first witness."

I was surprised, because I thought the name of the other lawyer was Terry. I turned to him and asked him if today was the day of court. I had thought today was only a pre-trial hearing. The lawyer also seemed surprised and he didn't know what to say.

Finally, I realized another woman who looked like Rosa (a clerk in judge Schwille's court) was seated at the other end of the table. Apparently her name was Terry. I thought I knew her. Apparently the judge had been speaking to her.

I finally understood what was happening. The woman named Terry wasn't actually an attorney, but the judge was going to let her do something like an attorney in court today. Finally about 10 witnesses approached the judge and stood around him. It wasn't exactly clear what was taking place, but the woman finally began questioning the witnesses.
