I was in high school and had gone to a high school classroom. I had a bad attitude about being in class and I didn't want to study. I didn't even want to be here.

The teacher decided to give a pop quiz concerning the names of famous people which I was supposed to know. I asked another student for a piece of paper, and when he gave it to me, I saw that it was scrap paper which had already been written on. He didn't seem to want to give me a clean sheet of paper, so I ask someone else, but the same thing happened with two or three other people, all of them giving me scrap pieces of paper. After finally becoming exasperated, I turned around and asked out loud if anyone would simply give me a piece of paper, but no one seemed to want to give me a piece.

Finally Maynard (a junior high female classmate) walked up and handed me a fairly large envelope which appeared to be blank on one side, and I began writing on it.

In the meantime, the teacher had given me some of the names which I was supposed to identify. One was "Absalom." Another was "Edeilida." The teacher also gave me a third name.

I began thinking about Absalom. At first I thought it was a Greek name, but then it came to me that the name was of someone out of the Old Testament. I wrote, "Old Testament person. Son of Joseph and father of Solomon."

As I thought about it, I was sure I had given the correct answer. I also thought Absalom had lived around 800 B.C. I was surprised I had been able to think so clearly.

I begin thinking about Edeilida. I thought she was a medieval nun. I thought I might not do badly on the test after all, even though I hadn't prepared.
