Dream of: 20 July 1988 "I Must Leave"

I was with someone who seemed like Louise; I began singing to her. I sang the song slowly and my voice seemed to have a rich intonation, uniquely individual. As I sang, it seemed as if Louise were making fun of me somewhat; but I knew she was getting the message of the song. I sang, "Farewell, Angelina, the bells of the town are being stolen by bandits, I must follow the sound. The triangles tinkle and the trumpets play low. Farewell, Angelina, the sky is on fire and I must go. There's no need for sorrow, there's no need for blame, there's nothing to lose, everything's still the same. Just a table standing empty by the edge of the sea. Farewell, Angelina, the sky is falling and I must leave."

I finished the song and walked out. It seemed so appropriate to finish the song with the words "I must leave." The song seemed to have had some meaning behind it and I felt good about having sung it to her.
