Dream of: 15 July 1988 "Alcohol Problem"

I was in a large house where a party seemed to be taking place. I sat next to a very attractive woman (probably in her late 20s). Although she was an American, I had been attracted to her for a long time, mainly because she spoke one of the foreign languages which I spoke, probably French. Gradually I reached over to her and began holding her hand. Finally we both turned around facing each other and I kissed her on the lips.

Suddenly Carolina crossed my mind and I felt as if I were doing something wrong because I thought I had some kind of commitment to Carolina. I continued anyway.

Finally a man who was my father walked in. He was strong, husky and muscular, and had very short hair. He said he wanted to talk to me. I walked over to the side and sat down beside him, still within earshot of the woman. He began by saying he wanted to talk with me about my "alcohol problem"; he mentioned that he had wanted to talk with me earlier.

I was willing to talk with him, but I become offended because he was talking in front of the woman. I walked away and he quickly became angry. He followed me, grabbed me, and insisted on talking with me. I tried to push him away and finally he angrily tried to hit me. I in turn became angry.

Quite a few people were in the room, and among them was another woman (probably in her late 20s) who was my sister (not my actual sister). The man approached her and it appeared he was going to do something to her. That angered me even more. I ran to them and grabbed my sister away from him. I told him if he did anything to her, I would do something to hurt him.

There was something about my sister which I deeply loved.

Things quieted down for a while, but finally he returned to me, grabbed me, and once again assaulted me. I didn't want to fight with him, but finally I did hit him back and knocked him down. When he was on the ground, I kicked him several times in the ribs and in the back. I might be injuring him badly, but I continued. Finally, realizing I had probably badly hurt him, I walked away.
