I thought I could bring my world to you
I thought once I let you in,
you'd stay for a while
and although we don't control the world around us,
doesn't mean we have to be apart
I thought distance made the heart grow fonder,
so fond I thought it'd burst.
and yet,
it somehow went wrong.
I apologize for the way I am
I apologize for how difficult I can be
I apologize for my emotions
I apologize for me
I'm sorry you feel the way you do
I can't change that,
no matter how bad I wish I could.
I never wanted to let you go.
Please don't lose me this easily.
I never expected this to end, and although
you think it's better this way,
I find myself in disbelief.
Just when you think it might be safe to let someone in,
life proves you wrong yet again.
