Welcome to Alisha Arabella's Page...

On Dec 11, 2003 Alisha lost her battle with complications of her age. She had congestive heart failure and survived that for a full year before other side effects set in. I will always miss her. She was the light of my life. To see more pictures of Alisha from the time she was a baby up to present - please click here to view her website.

Alisha was born on Friday, January 19, 1990 in Midland, Texas. She died in College Station, Texas, December 11, 2003. Her mom was a black 8" toy poodle named "Muffin" and her dad was a 10" black toy poodle named "Andre". She had one sister who was bigger but had the same champagne coloring and one brother who was black. Both other puppies were very "rompy" and "nippy" - Alisha (who was already named Arabella by her breeder because she was their first litter) was very reserved and sat quietly watching when I went to visit. The breeder, Carla, had already fallen in love with her and was hesitant to part with her. However, after a brief visit I convinced her that her "Arabella" was the only one I would consider adopting so Carla finally consented. And on March 12, 1990, weighing only 1lb 9 oz. she became
"Alisha Arabella".

At 7 weeks and 2 days old, Alisha became the center of attention with the relatives. Her favorite is her Aunt Joycie who affectionately calls her "Lisha-belle" or "Fifi". Joyce's beloved Poco(her chihuahua now passed on) was not overly fond of Alisha - but he kindly tolerated her and she stole his food occassionally.

Her first collar was pink leather with rhinestones and we attached a 'cat-bell' to it so we could hear her coming and not step on her...she was SO tiny!. Her first toy was a stuffed pig with a black rope around his neck that she liked to chew on. She wrestled that pig down many times cuz it was just her size. She also had a green parrot and a nyla-bone. She looked like a "real dog" when she carried those around!

I never knew I could be a "dog-person" as I had two cats!

Alisha went everywhere with me. Here she is sleeping in her bed that I had in my retail store for her. She slept soundly and greeted customers with friendly enthusiasm....at least for a while...

Here is a portrait I had painted of her last year

Here she is sleeping while I'm at my computer writing this!!
