You Can Trust: Stephanie
is a professional illustrator with over 10 years in the publication
industry. Her designs/illustrations are published in international
magazines, children's books, textbooks, and educational CD-ROMs.
Additionally, her artwork has been exhibited by museums and is currently
represented by several galleries throughout the southeastern U.S.
She is also a freelance writer with MacMillan Publishing, one of
the largest worldwide publishing companies.
About
the Process: The process begins with your e-mail inquiry
and a free initial consultation.
During the FREE consultation, you will see samples of Stephanie's
work and brainstorm ideas, desired effect, size of illustrations,
colors, etc.
Next, a written estimate is calculated. Upon approval of the written
estimate, preliminary design and sample drawings begin in the studio.
Following your approval of the preliminary design and sample drawings,
a contract is signed between each party, and the creation of your
illustrations begins. A 50% deposit is due at this time. The remaining
50% is due upon the completion of the work. At this stage, your
imagination becomes reality.
Estimated
Time: Every illustration package and/or cover design
is custom designed and varies in the time it takes to complete depending
on the level of detail required, complexity, and size. Every effort
is made to work both professionally and efficiently. Most jobs take
an average of 2-4 weeks.

Here are some helpful hints to get you started:

Decide on the number of illustrations needed, and the size of
your book, and whether the illustrations will be in color or
black and white.
- Collect
images that you like from magazines or photographs.
- If
you need a cover design, decide on a title for your book and
the overall image you would like to create.

Costs:
Illustrations are rendered in either watercolor (for full-color
illustrations) or pen and ink (for black and white illustrations).
Every illustration is custom designed so prices vary depending on
detail. Black and white illustrations average $25 - $50 per page.
Color illustrations, such as those typically found in children's
books, average $75 - $100 per page. Cover designs average $250.
All art is camera-ready and ready to be scanned by the publisher.
