What the World's Greatest Sister is all about....

This is my baby sister, Cookie (Kathy). She now lives near San Francisco. A retired florist extraordinaire, she's done a lot of things in her life, but the most challenging I think was retirement. Kath has a heart as big as all outdoors and it's been over 3 years since she had that heart sorta rerouted and roto-rootered, but the effects are still significant. She didn't even finish singing all of "I left my Heart in San Francisco" when she was rushed into emergency surgery and lost both feet to diabetes. That would put most folks into a tailspin, but not Kathy. She now has new feet (she said they are better looking than her original equipment) and an electric cart and ya just can't keep her down. And you know what? She's doing quite well, thank you very much
If you feel moved to send her words of encouragement, feel free to do so. Her email is below. The only real flaw I've found in her so far is the fact that she hasn't given her computer a name. Tsk! Tsk! I mean, if she could name a purple dump truck "Daisy", then surely she can find a name for her computer. I would assume since she has 143 items on her fav list that begins with NASCAR or the Tampa Bay BUC's it will either be racing or pigskin related. I'm sure she would love to hear from those of you who look at this site.. {{Smile}} Once we get over this hurdle, she'll be durned near perfect.

Blue MountainArts greeting cards recently had a poetry contest and I thought Lisa Lorden must have had Kathy in mind when she wrote it, although she failed to mention occasional "bossy" and "for your own good" tendencies.

MY SISTER
She opens doors to rooms I never knew were there,
Breaks through walls I don't recall building.
She lights my darkest corners with the sparkle in her eyes.

My sister is my soul.
She inspires my wearied spirit to fly on wings of angels
But while I hold her hand my feet never leave the ground.
She stills my deepest fears with the wisdom of her song.

My sister is my past.
She writes my history, in her eyes I recognize myself,
Memories only we can share...she remembers...she forgives
She accepts me as I am with tender understanding.

My sister is my future.
She lives within my dreams ..she sees my undiscovered secrets,
Believes in me as I stumble she walks in step beside me,
Her love lighting my way.

My sister is my strength
She hears the whispered prayers that I cannot speak
She helps me find my smile, freely giving hers away
She catches my tears in her gentle hands.

My sister is like no one else
She's my most treasured friend filling up the empty spaces
Healing broken places..she is my rock, my inspiration.
Though impossible to define,
In a word, she is...my sister.
