John Mohatt popping a wheelie, Dirt biking on the steep and narrow camel paths was a favorite past time, just had to make sure you weren't the last one in line, they usually got stoned when going thru the villages. Sent to me by a friend, this is a picture of the little train that went from Massawa to Asmara up the steep  imbankment.

Sent in to me this is the front entrance to Kagnew Station at night.

From Chuck Johnson, Steering Committee: Greetings! My name is Chuck Johnson (Kagnew 68 - 69; ASA, Co. B) and I am a member of the Steering Committee putting together a Reunion of Kagnew Station alumni. We are planning to meet in the Orlando area on September 6 - 8, 2001. The purpose of my emailis to advise you of our plans and invite you to join us there. We are in the process of picking a hotel at this time and hope to have one picked by the end of next week. As soon as that determination is made, we must reserve a block of rooms. In order to do that we need to know approximately how many will be attending, and we must block out the rooms at least a year in advance to ensure getting space at the hotel we want. These constaints mean that those who are planning to attend need to notify Joe Wilder at the address below as soon as possible. Please discuss this with your family and consider attending. Feel free to discuss it with fellow Kagnew alumni with whom you maintain contact. Remember that a commitment is not binding if plans change and no funds will be required until sometime next year when plans are totally firmed up. We look forward to seeing you in Orlando next year! Hoping to hear from you. Chuck Johnson Please reply to:jwilder21
